  瑞典Karolinska Institutet博士后职位

The Department of Medicine, Solna, is one of the largest departments at Karolinska Institutet. The department consists of several divisions that are separated into different research groups. The core activities of the department are research, doctoral education and undergraduate education for medical and biomedical students. The research has three main profiles: allergy, cardiovascular medicine and inflammatory diseases.

  Duties

Assistant professor Joakim Dahlin recently established a research team at the Department of Medicine, Solna, Karolinska Institutet. The laboratory’s main aim is to decipher normal and aberrant hematopoiesis with focus on mast cell differentiation. The research is performed in an interdisciplinary setting with strong collaborations with clinical departments as well as national and international research groups. Key technologies applied to primary samples from healthy subjects and patients with mast cell-related hematologic diseases include single-cell transcriptomics, FACS sorting, cell fate assays, and methods to genetically manipulate cells. We are now seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic person, who wishes to lead projects on mast cell differentiation in normal and aberrant hematopoiesis.

  Entry requirements

Applicants need to demonstrate a strong competence in running projects independently but also show excellent abilities for teamwork and cooperation within a dynamic group of scientists with broad expertise and from different nationalities. Proven ability to write scientific articles and orally present results is required. Excellent communication skills in English are needed, as the group has an extensive network of international collaborations.

One or more of the following skills are also required:

  ·         - Experience with advanced multicolor flow cytometry

  ·         - Experience with performing FACS, including single-cell sorts, without supervision

  ·         - Experience with processing cells for RNA sequencing

  ·         - Experience with bioinformatical analysis

Scholarships for postdoctoral qualification can be established for foreign researchers who place their qualifications in Sweden. The purpose of scholarships for postdoctoral qualification is to promote internationalization and contribute to research qualification after a doctorate or equivalent.

A scholarship for carrying out postdoctoral research can be granted for a maximum of two years within a four year period following the receipt of a doctoral degree or equivalent.

To be eligible for a postdoctoral scholarship, the person must have obtained a doctorate or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctorate.

The head of the department determines whether their previous training and scholarly qualifications correspond to a Swedish doctorate or higher.

  Type of scholarship

The amount is tax free and it is set for twelve months at a time, paid out on a six months basis. In exceptional cases, shorter periods may be acceptable.

  Application process

An application must contain the following documents in English or Swedish:

  ·         A complete curriculum vitae, including date of the thesis defence, title of the thesis, previous academic positions, academic title, current position, academic distinctions, and committee work

  ·         A complete list of publications

  ·         A summary of current work (no more than one page)

The application is to be submitted on the Varbi recruitment system.

Karolinska Institutet accounts for the single largest share of all academic medical research conducted in Sweden and offers the country’s broadest range of education in medicine and health sciences. The Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institutet selects the Nobel laureates in Physiology or Medicine.

Pursuant to the regulations of the Swedish National Archives, applications are kept on file for two years after the appointment has gained legal force. The regulations do not apply to attachments that have been printed or otherwise published.
