  招聘简介:国外博士后招聘,爱尔兰国立大学戈尔韦博士后职位

  英文原文:

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of postdoctoral researcher. The position is available for 12 months from October 2019 to the end of September 2020 to be based in the School of Chemistry. The post involves the application of ab-initio, density functional (DFT), multi-reference configuration interaction (MR-CI) and coupled cluster (CC) calculations to characterize potential energy surfaces and the application of conventional transition state theory (TST) or Rice-Ramsperger- Kassel-Marcus (RRKM) theory to predicted rate constants. The project forms part of the Combustion Chemistry Centre’s (C3) programme funded by SFI (http://c3.nuigalway.ie/). The successful candidate will integrate into a 15 person research team led by Professor Henry Curran at NUI Galway, as well as contribute to the collaborative research efforts with other international combustion research groups.

The Combustion Chemistry Centre, C3, (http://www.nuigalway.ie) is engaged in fundamental research on the combustion of fossil and biofuels. Combustion is the ultimate interdisciplinary field, it requires knowledge of chemistry, physics, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and mathematics. C3 is concerned with the application of combustion research to the design of energy-efficient engine and gas turbine combustion systems and the impact of their use on toxic and greenhouse gas emissions, thus helping address the problems of urban air pollution and climate change.

  Description:

Candidates must have a PhD, or a PhD thesis submitted, in Applied Chemistry or a related discipline. They should have a high level of experience and competence in quantum chemical calculations.  A demonstrated output in terms of published papers in peer-reviewed journals is also required.  In addition, an interest in combustion, good writing, and communication skills are essential for this project, which will involve close collaboration with other members of C3 including SFI and industrial partners. A candidate with a knowledge or experience of quantum chemistry calculations applied to the calculation of rate constants would have an advantage.

  Essential Requirements:

  The success candidate should have

  ·         A PhD in Combustion/Physical Chemistry or a related discipline

  ·         Quantum chemistry calculations experience using Gaussian or other codes

  ·         Proven track record of publication in international peer-reviewed journals

  Desirable Requirements

  ·         Knowledge of Chemkin-Pro or other chemical kinetic modelling software (Cantera, FlameMaster)

  Salary Scale: €37,223–€39,530 per annum

Start date:  Position from October 2019

  Host Institute:

Located in the vibrant cultural city of Galway in the west of Ireland, with over 17,000 students and more than 2,400 staff, NUI Galway has a distinguished reputation for teaching and research excellence.

Further information about research at the Combustion Chemistry Centre is available at: http://c3.nuigalway.ie/
