　　Job Description

　　The Department of Neurology at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Associate. The Postdoctoral Associate will be responsible for executing scientific research related to the use of Mesenchymal stem Cells in the development of treatments for Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

　　The Postdoctoral Research Associate will:

　　Plan and conduct day-to-day experimental activities relating to assigned research projects;

　　Use professional concepts to contribute to the development of the lab technology base and to achieve objectives in creative and effective ways;

　　Follow guidelines on data entry, conservation, and sharing;

　　Presents research findings at internal meetings and conferences;

　　Contribute to scientific literature as well as research proposals and grant applications;

　　Retains accurate records of research findings, along with analysis of results, in a detailed up-to-date laboratory notebook

　　Minimum Qualifications

　　Ph.D. in Neurology or related field, M.D., or other doctoral-level degree is required. Proven track record of laboratory research and leadership, as well as knowledge of current scientific techniques are a must. The Postdoctoral Research Associate should have strong theoretical and technical background of current laboratory assays and techniques in the areas of Neurology, Cell Biology, and Molecular Biology. The position requires experience in the following areas:

　　Mouse handling, mouse breeding

　　Familiarity with initiating and maintaining primary cell cultures;

　　ELISA, qPCR, SDS Page;

　　Proven capability to carry out and follow through complex research programs;

　　Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
