  Research Fellow - Statistical Genetics

Postdoctoral positions are available for eligible candidates with training in statistical genetics/statistics, programming/machine learning, data science and statistics. Our laboratory focuses on genomic studies of cardiovascular traits and implementation of genomics into clinical practice. The approaches we use include; genome and exome-wide association studies using high-density SNP arrays (common variants as well as rare variants), whole exome/genome sequencing in families with cardiovascular disease, Phenome wide association studies (PheWAS), variant annotation and electronic phenotyping algorithms. Our laboratory is part of a large-scale translational genomics initiative, the eMERGE network (https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http 3A__www.gwas.net&d=DwIFaQ&c=vh6FgFnduejNhPPD0fl_yRaSfZy8CWbWnIf4XJhSqx8&r=NBLUazTsiDwTgq3-kwSO8a3Vuyuqnfad85BXvzRst0c&m=5bztkjprZNYOxw0tQ0UeTrJer6wJZn_xCWWA-V5eIjU&s=Iks3TQO8rwmpVZhCG2eLys7b4i_EjsfaTy9jTc508J8&e=) established by the National Human Genome Research Institute and has access to large genotyping and sequencing datasets. The candidate should be able to analyze such data and have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in biostatistics, statistics/statistical genetics or data science. The candidate is expected to gain cross-disciplinary training in statistical genetics, genetic epidemiology, bioinformatics and translational genomics.
