　　Postdoctoral Fellow

　　The National Institute on Aging (NIA) and National Institute on Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), major research components of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), are jointly recruiting for a postdoctoral position to investigate molecular and cellular defects in helicase genes underlying novel genetic diseases associated with immune and inflammatory dysfunction. The Postdoctoral Fellow will collaborate with researchers in the laboratories of Frederick Miller, MD, PhD (NIEHS), Robert Brosh, PhD (NIA), Lisa Rider, MD (NIH Clinical Research Center), and Raphaela Goldbach-Mansky, MD, MHS (NIAID).

　　Research will involve a systematic analysis of the functions and regulation of DNA helicase proteins and their associated partners that play a role in genomic stability maintenance, cellular homeostasis, and autoimmunity. Genetic and biochemical approaches will be employed to characterize the impact of clinically relevant mutations on the mechanistic roles of helicases in cellular DNA metabolic pathways that cross-talk with processes associated with inflammation.

　　Interested candidates must have a Ph.D. or M.D. with less than five years of postdoctoral experience and research experience in molecular biology. Training in mammalian cell culture techniques and/or immunology is desirable. The successful applicant will perform research at two locations: Baltimore, Maryland & Bethesda, Maryland, USA
