　　Open PhD and Postdoc Positions in Computational Biophysics: MPI

　　The Computational Biomolecular Dynamics Research Group at the Department of Theoretical and Computational Biophysics at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Goettingen, Germany, aims at an understanding of the physics and function of proteins, protein complexes, and other biomolecular structures at the atomic level through molecular dynamics simulations and invites applications as Ph.D. Student or Postdoc (Code number 35-18) particulary for the following projects:

　　Markov State Modeling of Permeation in Ion Channels (Postdoc)

　　Collective Dynamics Underlying Channel Permeation (Postdoc)

　　Design of Protein Mutations Affecting Channel Gating (Postdoc)

　　Permeation and Mechanosensitive Gating of K2P Potassium Channels (PhD)

　　The successful candidates have a keen interest in computational molecular biophysics and skills in structural biology, physical chemistry, statistical mechanics and biocomputing and hold a Master's (or equivalent) or a PhD degree, respectively, in any of these or a related field.

　　The PhD Student will have the chance to participate in one of several available PhD programs, with three years funding and a possibility of extension, in collaboration with the University of Goettingen. The Postdoc position is limited to two years with a possible extension.The payment and benefits are based on the guidelines for the German labour agreement in public services (TVöD).
