Position description
A postdoctoral Research Fellow position is now available in Epidemiology in which the successful candidate will receive training in cancer genetic epidemiologic methods and human genetic empiric analysis. As a part of this position, the Research Fellow will also work with a senior genetic epidemiologist and a team of biostatisticians, geneticists, clinical investigators, and informaticians on a multi-faceted research program that focuses on genetic epidemiology and early detection of pancreatic cancer. The candidate must have experience/knowledge in at least two of the following areas: human genetics, epidemiologic methods, biostatistics, bioinformatics. The ideal candidate will have well developed writing and presentation skills with opportunities for manuscript preparation using large datasets. The Research Fellow will be provided leadership opportunities in pancreatic cancer and will also learn to work in international consortia settings. The candidate is expected to have a Ph.D. in epidemiology or medical genetics.
A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic. Qualifications
Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program. Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.
