Postdoctoral position

The position is available as of now until June 30st, 2022 and is funded by the project grant B09 "Regulation of macrophage reprogramming and functional specification in pneumonia. In agreement with current regulations, the position is on the TV-H E13 scale (100%) for public employees.

The project is part of the Collaborative Research Centre SFB TR84 Innate Immunity of the Lung: Mechanisms of Pathogen Attack and Host Defence in Pneumonia (www.sfb-tr84.de).

The goal of the project is to identify therapeutic targets to treat severe pneumonia by uncovering the mechanistic underpinnings of iMΦ programs that attenuate lung injury and drive organ repair.

Responsibilities:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated post-doc who wants to contribute to cutting-edge research with a focus on analyses based on molecular biology methods and preclinical models
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and conducting scientific experiments, giving methodological advice to PhD students and writing scientific papers.

Requirements:

• Full university education in biology, biochemistry, medicine or veterinary medicine, or equivalent, with a doctorate (PhD),
• Solid practical experience with molecular biology methods, single cell analyses, cell culture, preclinical models in infection biology or experimental lung research,
• Experience in macrophage biology is of special advantage,
• Excellent English language skills and the desire to work in a dynamic international team.
