Boston University, Laboratory of Molecular NeuroTherapeutics, Boston, MA

We are looking for highly motivated postdoctoral research fellows with a PhD in molecular biology and neuroscience field awarded within the past three years. These positions will be involved in functional characterization of extracellular vesicles (such as exosomes) in Alzheimer's disease. This is based on our recent publication (Nat Neurosci 2015, http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26436904), which selected as the most impactful study in Alzheimer’s disease research in the last two calendar years (https://www.alz.org/aaic/releases_2016/awards-inge-grundke-Iqbal.asp).

The research will be conducted in the Laboratory of Molecular NeuroTherapeutics, led by Dr. Tsuneya Ikezu, in the Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, Boston University School of Medicine. The laboratory has several research projects directed toward identification of cellular and molecular pathobiology of Alzheimer’s disease. The recruited postdocs will be primarily assigned for the project exploring the role of extracellular vesicles on tau propagation in mouse models and in human biospecimens.

The ideal candidate will have experience in neuroscience and molecular biology. Experience in proteomics, RNA sequencing, CRISPR editing, stereotaxic injection or handling of neurodegenerative disease animal models is a plus.
