A 2-year postdoc position is available in the research group of Søren Besenbacher at the Department of Molecular Medicine (MOMA), Aarhus University.

The post doc will study the mutation processes in humans and related species by analyzing de novo mutations found using whole-genome sequencing of parent-offspring trios. This can also include assessing the influence of de novo mutations on human diseases. Depending on your interests, focus can be on methods development, large-scale data analysis, or both.

The group
The integrated bioinformatics groups of Professor Jakob Skou Pedersen and associate professor Søren Besenbacher consists of around 15 individuals working on various aspects of bioinformatics applied to diseases (mainly cancer) as well as population genetic problems. We interact and collaborate closely with the research groups at the Bioinformatics Research Centre (BiRC) (http://www.birc.au.dk).

Required qualifications:
We are looking for a highly motivated applicant that have or are about to obtain a PhD in a relevant subject, which could be bioinformatics, population genetics, statistical genetics or a similar subject. Furthermore the applicant should have:

  • Experience with genomic data analysis.
  • Good programming skills
  • Fluency in spoken and written English

Required qualifications
Appointment as a postdoc requires academic qualifications at PhD level.
