摘要:

Postdoctoral Position in the Bergan laboratory

A postdoctoral position is available for a highly motivated candidate to join the Bergan laboratory in the Division of Hematology/Oncology within the Knight Cancer Institute at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU).

The Bergan research group is focused on elucidating the underlying biology driving increased cancer cell motility leading to the formation of metastatic cancer, and utilizing that knowledge to develop targeted therapeutic interventions. The available project is an extension of ongoing work in which we have defined key pathways that regulate human prostate cancer (PCa) metastasis, and have identified a novel small molecule therapeutic that selectively targets those pathways (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-018-04465-5). The project will be inclusive of but not limited to the characterization of the molecular mechanism through which the drug elicits its response as well as evaluating novel therapeutic strategies that can be utilized clinically for metastatic PCa.

The position will provide a unique and multidisciplinary exposure to cellular/cancer biology, metastatic disease, and drug development. This research program is supported by the Knight Cancer Institute, the Department of Defense Prostate Cancer Research Program, the US Department of Veterans Affairs and the National Institutes of Health.

Required:
• Candidates should hold a doctoral degree with a background in molecular biology, cancer biology or a related field.
• Proficiency in verbal and written English is required.
• In addition the candidate should be capable of analyzing data and writing up results into appropriate manuscript form.

Candidates with an interest in the position should send their CV, and a brief letter outlining their interest in the project and their career plans to the contact listed below:
