The position is connected to the group of Prof. Dr. C. Büchel working on plant cell physiology, with focus on the physiology, biochemistry and molecular structure of proteins of the thylakoid membrane and those working in photoperception in plants and diatoms. Photosynthesis of the organisms is studied by physiological and biochemical techniques common in photosynthesis, as well as methods in molecular biology. Special focus is on spectroscopy, where also a range of regional and international co-operations exist.
