Postdoctoral positions are available in Dr. Ashok Kumar’s laboratory at the Department of Anatomical Sciences and Neurobiology, University of Louisville School of Medicine. Our research work is focused towards investigating molecular and signaling mechanisms that regulate satellite stem cell function, skeletal muscle growth and wasting, and pathophysiological mechanisms of muscular dystrophy. We employ genetic mouse models, morphometric assays, primary cell cultures, and biochemical, molecular, genomics, and proteomics approaches for our work. Potential candidates should have Ph.D. or M.D. degree and strong background in biochemistry and molecular biology techniques. Prior experience in skeletal and/or cardiac muscle physiology, neuroscience, cell signaling, viral vectors, primary cell culture, and flow cytometry is plus.
