Postdoctoral Research Associate Position A postdoctoral position is available (starting date: Aug 1st, 2018) in the laboratory of molecular nutrition led by Dr. Kang located in Food and Nutritional Sciences Program of Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro, North Carolina. This position will be expected for a highly self-motivated postdoctoral research fellow to study brown fat function, beige/brite cells and energy metabolism by dietary compounds in obesity research area using molecular biological techniques in a small animal model (mice) and mammalian cells. Qualifications -Must have PhD degree in nutritional sciences, molecular biology, biology, biochemistry or related field. -Strong experience working with mice and mammalian cell culture experience (3T3-L1, primary brown adipocytes) -Prior strong research experience and knowledge in obesity area and lipid metabolism/ inflammation/ non-shivering thermogenesis using mice and mammalian cells/primary cells -Extensive molecular biological techniques (minimum requirement: RNA/DNA extraction, real-time PCR, western blot, transfection) -Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English -Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with other lab members as a team.
