摘要:

The Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research in Bad Nauheim nearby Frankfurt (Germany) has two openings for a

Postdoctoral Research Scientist (m/f) and a Ph.D. Student (m/f)

Reference number 12/2018

in the Department of Pharmacology (Prof. Dr. Stefan Offermanns) to do research in the field of vascular biology / mechanosignalling.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The positions are available to study mechanisms of cellular mechanosensing and mechanosignalling in the vascular system. This includes the analysis of molecular and cellular endothelial processes underlying flow-dependent vascular tone regulation and of disturbed flow-induced vascular inflammation as well as characterization of mechanosignalling processes involved in tumor cell metastasis. For recent references: Wang et al., J. Clin. Invest. 125:3077-3086 (2015); Strilic et al., Nature. 536:215-218 (2016); Wang et al., J. Clin. Invest. 126:4527-4536 (2016); Strilic & Offermanns, Cancer Cell. 32:282-293 (2017).

We seek enthusiastic, highly motivated people to join our international research group. The projects involve the generation and analysis of complex genetic mouse models, in vitro siRNA- and CRISPR/Cas9-based screens as well as basic cell biological, biochemical, molecular biology and histology techniques. Previous experience in these techniques is appreciated.

ABOUT THE EMPLOYER

The Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research in Bad Nauheim is an interdisciplinary research institution with international flair. Our researchers have the opportunity to work on various model systems by making use of the latest cutting-edge technologies. The Max Planck Society wishes to increase the share of women in areas in which they are under-represented. Women are strongly invited to apply.
