Job Description
A postdoctoral fellow opening is presently available in Prof. Trevor Douglas’ laboratory in the Department of Chemistry at Indiana University, Bloomington. The group conducts research into the use of virus capsids as constrained reaction environments. The successful candidate for this opening will investigate the biophysical/chemical behavior of densely packaged enzymes within the confines of protein capsids. Additional 12-month extension will be available based on performance and/or availability of funds. A competitive salary along with a benefits package will be offered.
Basic Qualifications: Candidates are required to have a Ph.D. in biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry or any related discipline.
Additional Qualifications: Research experience in protein chemistry is required. Research experience in protein design, cloning, mutagenesis, expression, purification, characterization, and/or enzymology techniques is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills and first-author publications on related topics in peer-reviewed journals are required.
