Postdoc - Vascular or Lung Biology : New Haven, CT, United States

Postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Daniel Greif at Yale Cardiovascular Research Center at the Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, CT, USA.  Our laboratory focuses on vascular development and disease and recently lung myofibroblasts in development and fibrotic disease as well.  We apply basic developmental, genetic/genomic and biochemical approaches to uncover key insights into the morphogenesis of the blood vessel wall during development, the maintenance of the adult vascular wall and diseases of the vasculature.  We currently have projects focusing on the following areas: i) pulmonary vasculature and pulmonary hypertension; ii) atherosclerosis, aorta and elastin arteriopathy; iii) cerebral vasculature and intracranial hemorrhage; and iv) lung myofibroblasts in development and fibrotic disease.  

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in genetics/genomics, gene regulation, developmental and molecular biology (including prior work with genetically engineered mice), microscopy, computational biology. A strong interest in vascular and/or lung biology is required.  Candidates must hold a recent PhD or MD or MD/PhD degree (or anticipating such a degree prior to starting the postdoc), have prior publications and be fluent in English and extremely hardworking and motivated to pursue top-notch scientific investigation.
