　　Job Description

 

　　A postdoctoral position is open for highly motivated candidates in the laboratory of Dr. SubhamoyDasgupta at the Department of Cell Stress Biology, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, NY- a National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated comprehensive cancer center. The Dasgupta lab focuses on discovering novel metabolic adaptations and investigates associated mechanisms that promote aggressive metastatic cancer (Dasgupta S, et al, Nature, 556, 249–254, 2018; Dasgupta S, et al, Journal of Clinical Investigation, 125(3):1174-88, 2015). State of art facilities such as proteomics, genomics, and metabolomics along with molecular biology techniques are widely used in the laboratory to investigate the crosstalk between metabolic signaling and transcriptional regulation. Multiple models systems, including Genetically Engineered Mouse Models (GEMMs), patient-derived xenograft (PDX), and syngeneic tumor models are used to address challenging mechanisms in breast and prostate cancer progression and metastasis. Currently the laboratory is actively funded by grants from NCI, Department of Defense (DoD) and Susan G. Komen.

 

　　The search is primarily targeted towards scientists who are just finishing their PhD or have recently graduated with first author publications. Qualified candidates should have strong experimental expertise in one or more of the following areas- molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, cancer biology, and immunology. Experience of working with mouse models of cancer will be preferred. The candidate should possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
