Department Description
The Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics and Metabolism department of Discovery Sciences serves the various Therapeutic Area’s with ‘state-of-the-art’ analytical support in e.g. PK/PD studies, biomarker evaluation, ‘mode-of-action’ research, target binding/confirmation essay’s and conjugate analysis to support the discovery and development of (mainly) novel small molecule therapies.
The department integrates metabolomics technologies in the existing High Throughput and (semi-)quantitative workflows to accelerate drug discovery and development. To support the on-going efforts to further elucidate & understand molecular mechanisms in disease, we like to strengthen our team with a

Post-Doc (2 yr’s) immune metabolomics and pharmacology (m/f)

Job description

  • Develop/optimize novel UPLC-MS/MS and UPLC-HR-MS methods for the analysis of selected endogenous metabolites from cellular systems, biofluids and tissue
  • Design and execute, in collaboration with our in-vitro and in-vivo experts, Immunological relevant tracer studies focused on e.g. T-cell or macrophage differentiation
  • Design metabolic quenching protocols for instantaneous arresting active metabolism in in-vitro and in-vivo samples

Qualifications

Education & experience

  • PhD in (Analytical) Chemistry, Pharmacology or Immunology
  • Solid background in Immunology
  • Hands-on experience with in-vitro systems, cell sorting technologies and cell biology in the field of immunology and/or inflammation
  • Hands-on experience with modern LC-MS/MS and/or LC-High Resolution MS instrumentation and sample preparation techniques for analysis of biofluids, tissues and cellular systems
  • Practical analytical method developer and demonstrated troubleshooter
  • Practical experience with quantitative metabolomics and data evaluation packages
  • Proven data analysis and interpretation skills of complex data sets
