摘要:

Postdoctoral Research Position: Host-Pathogen Interactions / Inflammation / Immunity

Temple University

Research Description:

A postdoctoral research position is available for a highly-motivated candidate to investigate IL-36 function and signal transduction in the context of wound healing, innate and adaptive immunity, auto-inflammatory diseases and cancer. Experimental models will include in vitro assays, tissue culture and knockout/transgenic mice. The study aims to: 1) identify novel cellular pathways and microbial immune evasion strategies, and 2) determine how these processes maintain homeostasis and cause human diseases when dysregulated.

Requirements:

  • A recent Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Immunology, Microbiology, and/or Cell Biology.
  • Peer-reviewed publications in the field(s) of Immunology, Microbiology, and/or Signal Transduction.
  • Experience with molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, signal transduction, cell culture methods, and/or mouse models of disease.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Must be willing and able to handle mice and infectious materials.

The position will remain open until a suitable candidate is identified.

Philadelphia is the 6th largest city in the US and offers a wealth of recreational and cultural activities. It is home to countless museums, galleries, theater companies, and sports venues. There are plenty fitness and recreational opportunities and the nightlife is vibrant at the endless numbers of restaurants, bars and nightclubs. During the winter months the Pocono Mountains offer occasions for skiing and snowboarding, and during the summer the beaches in New Jersey and Delaware are close by. Unlike many other US cities, Philadelphia has an excellent public transportation system. New York City and Washington DC are only 1.5 and 2 hours away by car or train, respectively.
