摘要:

Job title: Postdoctoral scientist in Immunology/RNA biology
Location: Center for Physiopathology Toulouse-Purpan (Inserm-U1043/CNRS-U282), Toulouse, France
Contract: Fixed-term (2 years), full-time
Starting date: September 2018

Project scope
Post-transcriptional regulation by RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) controls all aspects of RNA life, from synthesis, editing, location and translation of mRNA into functionally active proteins. Using latest high-throughput sequencing technologies we have uncovered novel RBP- dependent regulatory mechanisms that control innate and adaptive immune responses. In particular, we are interested to understand further how RBPs regulate gene expression during B lymphocyte activation, selection and differentiation in the context of the germinal centre reaction. Germinal centres (GC) are a hallmark in adaptive immunity, although they are also the origin of most Non-Hodgkin’s B cell lymphomas. We look for a molecular biologist or immunologist that help us to understand how RBPs enable somatic hypermutation in GC B cells while preserving genome integrity. The candidate will generate and integrate data from in-vivo conditional knock out mouse models and from the latest biochemical and sequencing technologies to study the role of RBPs in RNA splicing and translation in GC B lymphocytes.

Functions
The successful applicant is expected to independently develop research projects with support & supervision adapted to previous experience and needs. Excellent laboratory practices, high degree of organization, data analysis / recording and science communication are essential. Positive aptitude for training and development of early researchers and students as well as active engagement with international collaborators is required.

About us
We are a young- group of enthusiastic scientists dedicated to uncover the fundamental biological processes that regulate gene expression in the immune system and in cancer. We are strongly committed to personal career development and support candidate’s own fellowship applications. We are based at the Center for Physiopathology Toulouse-Purpan (Inserm U1043; CNRS U5282, http://www.cptp.inserm.fr/en/) with excellent FACs, imaging and animal facilities. We’re part of the University of Toulouse III, Oncopole and Genotoul.

Your Profile
We want to know about you if you are a recently qualified PhD student (or about to) or a PostDoc scientist with no more than 3 years post-doc experience in the field of RNA biology and/or Immunology. Experience with genetically modified mouse models in immunology and cancer biology is required. Expertise in flow cytometry, molecular biology, next generation sequencing and bioinformatics will be highly appreciated. Published evidence of aptitude for high-quality research is essential.
