We seek an outstanding candidate for a postdoc position funded by a Cancer Research UK Programme awarded to Professor Stephen Taylor. The project aims to build on the discovery that MYC is a major determinate of mitotic cell fate (Topham et al (2015) Cancer Cell 28 129-40). This project aims to define the links between MYC, chromosome segregation and mitotic cell fate.

You should have a PhD (or equivalent) in a related subject (e.g. molecular/ cellular/ cancer biology), and a strong interest in mitosis, cell cycle and/or cancer biology, plus technical expertise with molecular biology; cell culture techniques; and cell biology (e.g. immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, time-lapse microscopy).

You will join a well funded and productive research group (see www.bub1.com) located in the Manchester Cancer Research Centre, a state-of-the-art building which provides top-notch physical space, a stimulating intellectual environment, and access to first-rate core facilities. This post is ideal for aspirational candidates looking to launch their own independent research careers.

The position is available from 1 May 2018 for one year with a possibility to renew for a further 2.
