Postdoc Position in Onco-ImmunoMetabolism : Milan, Italy

A Postdoctoral position, funded by the Italian Association for Cancer Research (AIRC), is available to join the newly-established Cancer Metabolism Laboratory led by Dr. Simone Cardaci at the San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan (Italy).

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project aims at generating mechanistic understanding of the metabolic reprogramming of cancer, identifying metabolic vulnerabilities in tumours and determining how the metabolic landscape of the tumour microenvironment affects anti-tumour immune responses. These objectives will be achieved by employing metabolomics, functional genomics and flow cytometry-integrated approaches in chemically-induced and genetic mouse models of cancer. Research activity will be based at the Division of Genetics and Cell Biology within the San Raffaele Scientific Institute, a forefront multidisciplinary biomedical research campus in Italy (http://www.hsr.it/research/about-us/). You will benefit from a dynamic and collaborative research
environment, access to state of-the-art research facilities(http://www.hsr.it/research/organization/services-open-labs/) and a competitive salary, commensurate to qualifications and experience (initial 2-year contract, with possibility of extension up to 5 years).

DESIDERED QUALIFICATIONS
You will have successfully completed a PhD in immunology (or a field relevant to the
immunobiology of cancer) and have research experience in tumour immunology and/or
immunometabolism, proven by good first-author publications record in recognized journals.
The position requires hands-on experience with multicolour flow-cytometry and mouse models of cancer. Skills in molecular cloning and microscopy would be helpful. English fluency and computer literacy are a must. Importantly, you are expected to be a self-motivated researcher committed to developing your academic career in cancer research, driven by scientific curiosity, with good ability to work independently and be proactive in developing personal line of research on the topic of the group.

APPLICATION DETAILS
Please send a full CV, brief motivation letter, one-page statement on your past research experience and future research goals as well as contact details for three referees to Dr. Simone Cardaci
cardaci.simone@hsr.it.
Interviews of shortlisted candidates will take place starting from end of April 2018 until the position is filled.
