摘要:

Postdoctoral Scholar Research Associate : Los Angeles, CA, United States

Dr. Pinghui Feng’s laboratory at the Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology (MMI) at the Keck School of Medicine ofUSC, located in the Health Science Campus, is seeking two Postdoctoral Scholars to investigate roles of protein deamidation in viral oncogenesis and metabolic reprogramming.

The Feng group discovered that protein deamidation, catalyzed by glutamine amidotransferase, is a key regulatory mechanism in virus-host interaction (Cell 2015; Cell Host & Microbe 2016). Glutamine amidotransferase is responsible for the biosynthesis of nucleotides, amino acids and other cellular building blocks. The lab applies state-of-art technologies in virology, protein biochemistry, transcriptomics, metabolomics and bioinformatics. MMI has one of the strongest research programs in virus-host interaction in the nation, providing an excellent training environment for fellows and students.

The highly motivated candidates would have a Ph.D. degree in molecular and cellular biology or related fields and be skilled in virology, protein biochemistry and cancer biology. Previous experience with metabolism, innate immunity, transcriptomics or bioinformatics would be helpful. The candidate should be able to work both independently and in a collaborative environment, with a strong commitment to reaching research excellence and achieving assigned objectives. Please send CV and names of three references to Dr. Pinghui Feng via email
at pinghuif@usc.edu.
