An exciting opportunity is available in Tony Ly’s lab at the Welcome Trust Centre for Cell Biology, University of Edinburgh, to study cell cycle phase transitions using quantitative proteomics. The successful candidate will work on an interdisciplinary project combining mass spectrometry, fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS), and cell biology, to analyse the proteomic, phosphoproteomic, and protein-protein interaction changes that accompany the transition between quiescence and proliferation in human cells. The project is funded by the Wellcome Trust and the Royal Society.
Applicants must have, or will shortly obtain, a PhD in a relevant subject, such as biochemistry, cell biology, and/or analytical chemistry. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and enthusiastic with an outstanding academic track record, excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a team. Applicants should have proven experience in mass spectrometry, flow cytometry, and/or protein biochemistry.
