The Arizona State University’s Biodesign Center for Applied Structural Discovery and Dr. Petra Fromme invite applications for three Postdoctoral Research Associate positions. The successful candidates will become part of an interdisciplinary team of research groups at the Biodesign Center for Applied Structural Discovery that develops revolutionary technology with the goal to develop novel energy conversion systems by applying the mechanism of energy conversion in natural systems to the development of stable, highly efficient man-made systems that could produce clean energy for future generations.

The expertise of the successful candidates will complement the interdisciplinary research team at the CASDcenter, which includes expertise in Chemistry, Physics and Biology. The research will be integrated into the existing strength of the Center, such as the development of novel X-ray technology with Free Electron Lasers and CryoEM for the study of photosynthetic systems with high impact in bioenergy conversion. Two of these Postdoctoral Research Associates will work in partnership with the Mayo Clinic, and will become part of an interdisciplinary team of research groups that are involved in the structural elucidation of important membrane proteins that are involved in various diseases such as cancer, Parkinson's disease, diabetes, and Alzheimer's disease.
