Postdoctoral position, Molecular Physiology
A Postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Claudio F. Perez at the Department of Anesthesiology, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, MA. The lab focuses in understanding the molecular mechanisms of calcium regulation in striated muscles. Areas of interest include ion-channels, protein-protein interactions and calcium-signaling mechanisms and regulation at the cellular, biochemical and molecular levels.
Current projects focus on two areas:
1- Mechanisms of excitation-contraction coupling in skeletal muscle.
2- Regulation of myogenic calcium homeostasis by ryanodine receptor.
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative individual with a record of scientific productivity who is able to work independently and as part of a team. Ideal candidates must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. and less than three years of postdoctoral training. Preference will be given to candidates who have prior experience in muscle cell physiology and are well familiar with primary cell culture, calcium imaging and molecular biology techniques. Experience with FRET methods and patch-clamp analysis are a plus.
