摘要:

Postdoctoral Research Associate in Cell Biology : Oxford, United Kingdom

Salary: Grade 7: £30,738 - £37,768 p.a.

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate, to join an interdisciplinary team researching the molecular basis of human cell division. Work in the lab of Professor Francis Barr, combines state of the art biochemical and cell biological methods, with mathematical modelling and simulation to explain complex regulatory networks underpinning cell function. This work encompasses major areas in molecular cell biology, including genome editing, live cell and super-resolution microscopy, quantitative proteomics, biochemical, biophysical and structural work on novel protein complexes. This opportunity is for a biochemist to join this team and work on a project examining the role of protein phosphatase networks in the regulation of mitosis and cytokinesis.

Applicants should possess a PhD, or expect to obtain soon, a PhD in a relevant area of biochemistry and cell biology. You must have experience of protein purification using affinity methods and column chromatography. Expertise in the use of molecular biology and protein expression methods, in both bacterial and eukaryotic cells, are also core requirements for this role. You should be able to generate and characterise eukaryotic cell lines stably expressing a tagged gene of interest. You will also be expected to produce publication quality figures and write fully documented protocols describing how the data was obtained.

This full-time post is funded by the Cancer Research UK and is fixed-term for up to 1 year in the first instance.

Further particulars, including details of how to apply, can be obtained from the document below.

The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on Monday 4 April 2016, with interviews for shortlisted candidates to be held on as soon as possible thereafter.
